Pakistan and China Saturday inkedanother 22 agreements between the business sectors of the two countries, aimed at expanding economic ties and raising the total volume of expected trade to around US 25 billion dollars through 37 agreements.Premier Wen Jiabao and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani witnessed the signing of 17 agreements and 5 Memorandums of Understanding during the Business Forum convened specifically to help the two countries achieve the target of US 18 billion dollars by 2015.The agreements pertain to cooperation in space and upper atmosphere research, chambers of federations, agro chemicals, food,seafood, agriculture, seed research and import export of machinery.
The business summit was attended by over 250 Chinese businessmen and 150 Pakistani counterparts. Minister for Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh earlier wooed the Chinese investors to benefit from the liberal investment policies of the government and invited them to set up industrial units in the Special Economic Zones allocated for them.
The two sides on Friday inked 13 agreements to boost cooperation in agriculture, energy, security, science and technolog and banking sector. – App
