KARACHI: Sindh Health Department has suffered a loss of Rs 5 billion in the recent floods that washed away its 106 hospitals and healthcare centers and left 54 units in a partially damaged state.Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed said this in a meeting with a delegation of UAE Hilal-e-Ahmer at his office on Sunday. Member of the delegation include Saleh Al-Ajbar, Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Shoaib. The minister informed the delegation that timely and effective medical arrangements taken by Sindh health department for the provision of medical care for the flood survivors did not allow epidemics to spread.Dr Sagheer hailed the UAE Hilal-e-Ahmer for providing 34 containers of relief for the flood affected people of the province. Secretary Health Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi and Special Secretary Health Seema Najeeb were also present on the occasion – Dailytimes
