President, PM felicitate Thailand counterparts on King’s birthday, national day

ISLAMABAD, Dec 5 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani have felicitated their counterparts of the Kingdom of Thailand on the 83rd birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as the national day of Thailand.The President and the Prime Minister in their separate messages addressed to King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva of Thailand, respectively, conveyed cordial felicitations on their as well as on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion.

President Zardari in his message the King of Thailand said, “It gives me great pleasure to convey on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan and on my own behalf, our most cordial felicitations to Your Majesty on the auspicious occasion of Your Majesty’s 83rd Birthday Anniversary as well as the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand”.

“Your Majesty’s visionary leadership has been a tremendous source of guidance for the Thai nation for over six decades and has contributed immeasurably to the peace, stability, progress and prosperity achieved by Thailand,” he added. The President said, Pakistan and Thailand have always enjoyed warm and cordial relations, adding, “We, in Pakistan, are determined to transform this long-standing relationship into a strong partnership in all fields of common interest. “I am confident that our cooperative ties will continue to flourish in the years to come, to the mutual benefit of our two nations”.
The President also conveyed best wishes for the health, happiness and long life of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Thailand.
“Please accept, Your Majesty, the assurances of my highest consideration”, he added.
Prime Minister Gilani in his message to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said, “It is a matter of great pleasure for me to convey, on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan and on my own behalf, our warmest felicitations on the auspicious occasion of 83rd Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand”.
He said, Pakistan and Thailand are bound by historical and cultural ties that date back to the Gandhara period, adding, “in recent times, our two countries have been partners in the promotion of peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond”.
The Prime Minister said, “Pakistan wishes to transform our long-standing cooperative ties into a comprehensive partnership based on mutual benefit for our two countries and peoples”.
“I am confident that, working together, we will substantially advance the cause of regional and international peace, security, progress and prosperity”, he added. The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes for the health and happiness of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Thailand. “Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration”, he added – APP
