Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said all macro-economic indicators show that Pakistan is on a rising growth trajectory.

He said this while talking to delegation of World Bank led by Chief Executive Officer of World Bank Group Kristalina Georgieva in Islamabad. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar told the delegation about the economic progress and other achievements of the government. Speaking on the occasion, Kristalina Georgieva said the World Bank would continue to assist Pakistan with consideration of a bigger package, including the International Development Assistance program and IBRD.

She said the World Bank would also help Pakistan and India to find solution to the issue of Indus Water Treaty between the two neighboring countries. Minister of Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif who was also present in the meeting conveyed the importance of the Diamer Bhasha Dam and requested the Bank for providing assistance for its development. The CEO World Bank assured their positive consideration for Pakistan’s development needs and higher financial allocations.
