Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been on Monday discharged from the hospital and shifted to home in London, Media News reported.

The prime minister has been released from hospital after five days of his open-heart surgery on May 31. He was accompanied by his sons, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz, his wife Kulsoom Nawaz on his way to home. The PM appeared fit and healthy as he walked out of hospital towards his car. He smiled at the party activists and waved his hand.

Earlier, Hussain Nawaz had said his father was fast recovering as he had started taking light meals and he would soon be shifted to house, given that doctors allowed him. “As per the doctor’s advice the prime minister has started regularly shorts walks,” he had said while talking to media in London. Hussain Nawaz had said doctors had advised the prime minister to take one to two week complete rest and then he might be able to travel to Pakistan.

He said doctors conducted regular check-ups of the PM. He said various post-operation medicines had also been stopped. PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif had said: “Doctors are satisfied with PM’s progress and latest reports. All being well, Insha’Allah PM will be discharged this afternoon. Allah Kareem.” She has been giving live updates about her father’s health status since he has been admitted in a London hospital on May 31 for an open-heart surgery. Spokesperson to PM Musaddaq Malik said it might take the prime minister three weeks to return to Pakistan.
